It appears that a particular group's reputation precedes them, leading Ghanaians to decline renting properties to them. It is likely that they will leave the premises in a state of disarray. I am acquainted with a prominent Nigerian individual who owns a spacious apartment in ACP Junction; despite being a Nigerian, he has resolved not to rent his property to Nigerians. Your own people whose own properties in Ghana are not renting to Nigerians.

As an African American, I could never imagine myself visiting those slave "castles." I appreciate our people visiting the land of our ancestors. I would not want to pay to see how other Africans allowed this human trafficking to carry on for centuries.

Everyone is definitely entitled to their opinions and yours is respected. I have heard others say they would not want to visit the dungeons for various reasons. It truly is subjective. I have also witnessed the life transformational experience that has occurred for the countless people who do visit the dungeons. I have seen the encounter they have and the enlightenment that came by way of hear the REAL story from that part of the world. The assumptions and misinformation about what actually happened in those spaces gets cleared up when the broader context is explained and understood. Some things can only be truly understood by having a first hand experience. Again, for some, it’s not that important and believing one side of a story that was skewed is ok with them. For others, that is unacceptable and they seek a broader understanding so as not to be limited in their thinking. For me, visiting those dungeons changed my entire life and helped me to understand the nonsense that occurs in the US and many other places. The origins of much of our existence in the western world began in those places of horror. It wasn’t just an African sell out matter but is was a matter of European terrorism, systemic indoctrination that has carried its impact for more than 500 years. For me, going to the places where these abuses occurred, offered a much more profound perspective than any book or video could capture. I knew my mindset and thinking had been limited but the omissions of the western world and the small entrance fee that was paid to visit paled in comparison to the cost of level of ignorance I walked around with for more than 40 years. I’m thankful for my experience at those dungeons because my eyes were opened there. I was blinded on so many levels in the US. This is the account I hear time and time again from those who do visit.

As far as the indigenous American Africa concept. It is no different then 'black' Americans claim kinship with Africa. The whole pan African hypothesis is fantasy. Black Americans seeking a kinship with 'black' Africans do not understand that Africans are raised TRIBAL. 'Black people outside of their tribe, whether African, American or whatever, do not matter. Nice to know you, thank you very much... my concern is with my tribe. Get OVA it. Black Africans don't care for or entertain a need for the pan African diaspora malarkey. It is a concept, not a reality. Just like the indigenous American African. Or the Black Hebrews/Israeli. Just a concept of someone imagination. Not a reality. But all of the actually connect and point out something significant. The depraved desperate uncomfortableness 'black' Americas feel at being Americans who are 'black'. A craving to be anything but what they are. Americans who are privy to the best the world has to offer. A people born into a better position in life than any race of people on the earth, but refuse to take advantage of it, Instead they will cry, moan, play the fool and the victim at the slightest perceived discomfort.

Every room wants to claim Egypt as their own. The ancient Egyptians were extremely accurate with their depictions of different peoples. Nubians and the Egyptians are two different people. The Nubians came from the south of the upper kingdom. The ancient Egyptians were not Caucasian and they were not black African. The Coptic and the Egyptian population of today is hybridized to large extent with Arabs. Regardless, the Coptic people who are the lineage of the ancient Egyptians were not and are not black Africans. Just because Egypt is in the northeast corner of the African continent does not mean that they were black, none of the peoples around the shores of the Mediterranean were black. I have no personal dog in this fight. This is just the evidence as it’s been presented by the Egyptians themselves. If the Egyptians were darker, they would have depicted themselves as darker note also Egyptian paintings that the upper class of people were lighter skinned than the servant class and the workers. This is because they were light skinned and shaded from the sun, whereas the workers had to work in the sun. Depictions of Nubians are darker and with different features. I don’t care what your grandmother told you she was wrong.

I attended a trip to Dakar and Gambia in May 2024.This EXPERIENCE was one of the best trips that I have taken. The educational experience was shared by a group of 30. Most our interactions were among the people living in the villages and among the everyday inhabitants. I became enlightened about so much of Senegal that I had no idea existed. Can't wait until my next trip to Africa in 2025.

...and that's why 'African American' IS the most appropriate term for us. We are not (genetically) Nigerian or Togolese or Congolese, or Mende or Vai or Bubi. We are (for the most part) a mixture of different parts of the continent. You explained this perfectly.
