If the Egyptians were darker, they would have depicted themselves as darker note also Egyptian paintings that the upper class of people were lighter skinned than the servant class and the workers. This is because they were light skinned and shaded from the sun, whereas the workers had to work in the sun. Depictions of Nubians are darker and with different features. I attended a trip to Dakar and Gambia in May 2024.This EXPERIENCE was one of the best trips that I have taken. The educational experience was shared by a group of 30. Most our interactions were among the people living in the villages and among the everyday inhabitants. I became enlightened about so much of Senegal that I had no idea existed. Can't wait until my next trip to Africa in 2025.
